The University of Melbourne’s newest place for students will be located on the edge of the city, in the heart of the Parkville Campus on the land of the Woi Wurrung (Wurundjeri) people of the Kulin Nation.
Situated near key transport links, and walking distance to vibrant neighbouring communities, it will be a space for students, staff and the wider community to connect, learn and grow.
The precinct will encompass eight new or refurbished buildings and reinvigorated outdoor study, social and landscape spaces. A lowered ground plane will provide enhanced and inclusive accessibility to the campus.
Through deep engagement with Traditional Owners, Indigenous knowledge and culture is embedded across the precinct’s design, wayfinding, and the re-introduction of native flora, fauna and a pre-colonial creek, while connection to country continues through partnerships with Indigenous communities.
Green-star certified buildings, a rooftop community garden and the promotion of environmentally-friendly practices and behaviours are a hallmark of the precinct’s sustainability commitment.
Theatre, art, music and events will enliven the precinct, alongside inclusive facilities and amenities, a diversity of food and retail, and the co-location of student services making this a place to connect, aspire and belong at the University of Melbourne.

The University of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the Country on which the Parkville campus stands, the Woi Wurrung (Wurundjeri) people of the Kulin Nation, and we pay our respects to First Peoples across Victoria and Australia.
