The Institute of Veterans’ Advocates (IVA), set to be launched by the Australian Government Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA), will redefine the way advocacy for veterans is handled in Australia. Aimed at enhancing transparency, professionalism, and support, the IVA will introduce clear guidelines to ensure that veterans receive the high-quality advocacy they deserve. This is a significant step toward closing gaps in the current system, safeguarding veterans from misinformation, and providing them with trustworthy, ethical assistance as they navigate DVA claims.
The IVA promises a better future where veterans can rely on advocates who are trained, accountable, and dedicated to their well-being. It’s time for advocacy to evolve into something veterans can truly count on.
🌟 How KSC Began: A Story of Support and Service 🌟
Kathryn Stanford Consulting (KSC) wasn’t planned—it started from a real need. After navigating the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) claims process ourselves, we found ourselves helping a few mates do the same. They suggested this was a service veterans everywhere could benefit from, and so we gave it a shot.
Since March 2020, we’ve helped over 3,000 veterans with their DVA claims. Our goal has always been simple: provide an ethical, effective, and empathetic service with a personal touch. Veterans deserve respect and professionalism, and we work hard to uphold those values in every case.
An essential part of our approach is also recognising the role of DVA staff, who are often veterans themselves, driven by the same mission of supporting their fellow service members. We view this relationship as a powerful asset—when we work together, the outcomes are often stronger and more impactful for the veteran community.
At KSC, we’re here for our veterans every step of the way. It’s been an incredible journey, and it’s a privilege to serve those who’ve served.
