The Mumbai Municipal Corporation (MMC) Act of 1888 is where the notification of disapproval was obtained. An essential permit needed from the municipal corporation for building demolition or reconstruction is called an IOD, or Intimation of Disapproval. The developer must provide the current tenants of the property a notice period of 45 to 60 days after receiving an Intimation of Disapproval (IOD) from the local authorities.
