Pattern

Crocheting a pumpkin is so easy! It is a round ball, flat on the bottom and rounded on top, with a stem on the top. If you can make a round granny square, you can make a crocheted pumpkin. You just have to make the granny square a different way.

Pumpkin Base

Round 1: Ch 21, Hdc in 2nd ch from hook and in each remaining ch across. Turn. (20 Hdc)

Round 2-22: Ch 2, Hdc in BLO of each st across. Turn. (20 Hdc)

Finishing:

Create a rectangle shape by folding your work. Ss through the two short side layers to form a tube, finish off leaving a long tail between 18 and 24 inches long. Weave the tail of your yarn through the stitches on top of the piece. Tight it to close. Bind off and weave in ends. Weave in and out of stitches using an 18–24-inch length of yarn, working on the open bottom side of the work. Stuff with fiberfill (not too firmly, not too lightly). You need to close up the opening. Bind off and weave in the ends.
