Rajendra Chola I emerged from one of the most royal legacies of South India—the Chola Empire. He acquired the title after his father, Raja Rajendra Chola. He carried his father’s legacy from 1014 to 1044 C.E. Expanded the kingdom to the Northern Ganges. The son of the notable king of South India claimed the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the Maldives, the Lakshadweep, and coastal Burma.
