Allow me to introduce you to Bird Tree Urban Farm. Greg had the bright idea to purchase a Revelstoke double lot and an 1800s house over twenty years ago. In 2012, Greg and Kristina made Revelstoke their permanent home. Kristina set out to recover a little over a quarter of an acre of grass. Constructing a propagation house and greenhouse, laying out permanent planting beds, sowing perennials to provide berry crops, and fashioning unique flower stems. With the ever-increasing need for both food and flowers, Kristina counts herself extremely fortunate to have been granted access to two secluded acres on which to grow the farm.
Rob and Terra of Terra Firma Farms graciously allowed me to utilize their packing shed for my growing needs. Cleaning, sorting, weighing, and bagging all of the crops can be done by the field personnel while they look out over a beautiful flower field. Terra fully supports my flowery initiatives! Looking forward to the positive vibes that come from spending some of my agricultural days with this incredible bunch of people during my third season on their land in 2023. My second piece of rural property is off Airport Rd., which is located south of town. The farmers and foragers from Refuge Farm, who came to the valley in 2022, live on the same property as me. The long-season crops, which don't need as much care but still have lots of space to grow, are ideal for this location. My pumpkin, garlic, and winter squash types all come from this land.
