The historic Strand Cinema became part of Spotlight Cinemas in 2018. The Strand Cinema originally opened on November 18, 1929 with one theater seating 1000 people. By 2004, full restoration of the main theater was made with new stadium seating that presently seats 425 people. In 2005, two theaters were added each seating 175 people. Currently, all theaters have an accompanying balcony. The theater is claimed to be haunted and is listed in the top 50 most haunted places in America. Come down and find out for yourself!
The Strand is a family-friendly environment. All our theaters have balconies for your viewing pleasure. Balconies are restricted to adults (18+) only, no exceptions.
You can rent a theater for a private viewing for up to 20 of your family and friends for just $150!! This is for any movie we currently have at the time of scheduling. These are available 7 days a week!
