A History Of Growth...
Everett J. Prescott, Inc. was founded in 1955 in Gardiner, Maine. As the first waterworks distributor north of Massachusetts, we offered water-main tapping and installation, and underground boring.
The 1960's proved to be a decade of development, improvement and expansion for EJP. We introduced the first factory-direct trucking business for cast iron pipe in New England and expanded our fleet of trucks and our product line.
The 1970's brought tremendous growth, EJP's first two branches--in Concord, New Hampshire, and Montpelier, Vermont--were opened. In 1978, EJP started another business, Quality Water Products (QWP) in South Barre, Massachusetts.
Growth continued throughout the 1980's, with the opening of six new branches and the creation of two companies, PEP Transportation and Meter Backflow Services (MBS). In addition to locations in Massachusetts and Connecticut, branches were opened in Indiana.
The early 1990's brought further expansion, with additional branches opening in Maine, Indiana, Ohio and Massachusetts. Rhode Island was established in 1994; Ohio added a branch in 1995; New York added two (1997 and 2000) and South Burlington, VT opened in 2002.
In 2001, we purchased Red Hed Supply & Manufacturing. Those three distribution locations have EJP Lincoln, Rhode Island, EJP Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and EJP North Hatfield Massachusetts. Red Hed Manufacturing in Lincoln, Rhode Island is still operating as a Red Hed facility.
In 2005 we added Keene, New Hampshire and in 2006 we added Syracuse, New York and Jeffersonville, Indiana.
As Team EJP continues to grow and expand we pledge to continue providing the industry's finest water, sewer, drain and gas products, backed by our exceptional level of service.
Community Involvement
At Team EJP, we recognize that our success would not be possible if not for the fact that we live in the greatest country on planet Earth. We consider it an honor to live in the United States of America and believe it is our duty as both a responsible company and as grateful citizens to give something back. In addition to regular contributions to national charities such as the United Way and The Victory Junction Gang, Team EJP prides itself on lending a hand whenever it is needed. When our neighbors were reeling from the effects of the 9/11 Attacks and Hurricane Katrina, our employees organized highly successful food, clothing and supply drives. To make sure the donations got to the people who needed them, our home office donate the use of several PEP Transportation trucks which shipped the supplies within days. We are also extremely committed to helping young people in our local communities to achieve their higher education goals and fund numerous scholarships as a result.
Simply put, Team EJP cares about the world we live in. In our humble opinion, helping people and organizations in need isn't just a nice thing to do - it's an essential part of who we are.
