Our Cancellation Policy
If you must cancel or change your appointment we ask that you do so within 24 hours; 48 hours for holidays, weekends or anytime we hold more than two appointments in the same name; larger parties require one week. You will be charged the full price of your scheduled service (and lodging reservations (if applicable; see our lodging policy) if you fail to cancel by the required time period.

Spa Etiquette
Arrive 10 minutes early. This gives you a few minutes to check in at the reception desk and use the restroom.

A Word about our Therapists
All of our therapists are WV-licensed and trained. We employ both male and female therapists. Please indicate at the time of booking if you have a preference.

Discomfort
Please let your provider or staff member know immediately if you are uncomfortable for any reason. Our goal is for your experience to be positive, and corrections can only be made if we are made aware of a problem at the time of service.

Modesty
The best way to receive a massage or other bodywork is to be unclothed, however we never require you to be nude if it makes you uncomfortable. Our therapists are trained in the "art of draping", they will leave the treatment room while you get under the sheet on the table, keep you covered at all times except for the area of the body they are working on, and will leave the treatment room before you get up from the table. Most importantly, wear what is comfortable for you.

Medical conditions
If you have any type of medical condition, be sure to mention it when you book an appointment. Certain treatments may not be advisable for you. Also, before your treatment begins, let your therapist or aesthetician know of any medical concerns.

Shaving
If you need to shave (particularly beardless men receiving a facial), do it at least two hours before your appointment. If you have booked a body scrub we highly recommend shaving the day before since we can assure you that rubbing salt into the slightest razor wound is not a very relaxing experience.

Renaissance Spa packages can not be combined with Country Inn packages.

Food and Beverage
It's best not to receive bodywork on a full stomach, so schedule meals or snacks to allow at least an hour before your treatment. Drink water, especially if heat therapies are part of your package. Since bodywork introduces clean, oxygenated and nourished fluids into your tissues and stimulates your body to purge toxins, it is important to flush them out by drinking plenty of water - and be aware of what you're putting into your nice clean body after your treatments, especially refined sugars, high fats, caffeine and most importantly, alcohol - any of these may have a stronger effect on you than normal. Toxins that are not flushed from your body can be reabsorbed and may give you a "toxin hangover". If this happens, drink more water!

Allow Relaxation Time After Your Service
To receive the full benefit from your spa visit, allow yourself 15 to 30 minutes after your spa treatment to relax and gently awaken. Feel free to enjoy a cup of herbal tea in our tranquility lounge or leisurely walk around in our Bath Shop or in the beautiful Berkeley Springs State Park across the street from our Spa. Our everyday lives are so hectic and busy that you may be surprised how relaxed you are after your treatment. Certain services in particular REQUIRE some quiet time afterward to “come back to reality” such as the Hot Stone Massage.

Gratuities
Gratuities are left to the discretion of our guests. Gratuities are not included in the price of our services nor are they included in any of our Gift Cards unless specifically noted. A 20% gratuity is customary.

Cell phones
Because the day spa environment should be a tranquil and stress-reducing experience, we request that cell phones and pagers are turned off before entering the spa.

Children
Our spa is created to be an oasis of peace and tranquility for adults. We love children and we don’t like to see them refrained from their natural movements and freedom of expression and exploring. However, our spa environment is not an appropriate place for children. We ask that they are properly attended to elsewhere while you visit the spa.
