SATCOM
All military branches depend on satellite communications. Satellite communications are utilized by land, sea, space, and air militaries due to their capability to bypass obstructions or travel long distances.

Satellite communications (SATCOM) is the most utilized system for the military. This is because most of the technically advanced countries relied on SATCOM due to the requirement for safety, site independence, and wider coverage.

High Frequencies
High frequency communications are utilized in the military by armies, air forces, and navies. High frequency accomplishes global ranges because it utilizes the ionosphere, the part of the atmosphere between 157,480 feet and 3.1 million feet above the Earth.

HF signals cannot enter the ionosphere; therefore, the signals are bounced back to the surface. This provides them a beyond line of sight range as they can avert the horizon which otherwise would block the connection between two radios not in a line of sight range of each other.

UHF/VHF
Unlike high frequency, ultra high frequency or very high frequency radio is mainly utilized for line of sight communications and is highly common for surface-to-surface communications for naval and land armies. Ultra high frequency or very high frequency is also utilized for ground-to-air or air-to-ground communications.
