Nokia has announced that Telia Finland has chosen its 5G Standalone Core Software as a Service (SaaS) as part of an EU-funded innovation initiative. The goal is to provide Telia Finland with a fully automated and scalable software model, enhancing business agility and expediting the deployment and monetization of 5G network services.
In collaboration with Nokia, Telia Finland aims to develop an innovative 5G Standalone Core stack, positioning itself as the first Finnish operator to open its network to application developers. This move is intended to facilitate the creation of new software applications, particularly for industries like transportation. The European Union funding will support Telia Finland in establishing 5G Standalone corridors along highways and seaways as part of the Sirius innovation program.
