Stubborn Ox Farm is a MOFGA Certified Organic farm nestled amid porcupine infested woods along a long dirt drive in Brooks, ME. Our home is an off-grid, permaculture oasis complete with medlar trees, raspberry brambles, and honeyberry hedges. We focus on annual vegetables grown on a small scale in a way that nourishes and regenerates our soil. We strive to provide our community with a diversity of high quality, nutrient dense produce year-round. We grow food in a way that makes our farm and our community stronger and more resilient. Our produce can be found at the United Farmer’s Market of Maine (Saturdays 9-2), the Marsh River Coop, the Lincolnville General Store, and in the delicious dishes crafted at The Hichborn and Perennial Cider Bar. We have farmed together since the spring of 2018 and are grateful to live this life with the support of our friends, family, and community.
We grow vegetables, just like everybody else … though we strive to be a little different
