Taylor-Alexis Gillard is a filmmaker and editor from New York City, by way of the diverse borough of Queens. Even with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taylor-Alexis always found time to create by experimenting with podcasting. From there, she bought her first camera and began to teach herself how to film and edit videos. Ultimately, she wanted to learn more than what YouTube University could offer about the filmmaking process and the art of editing.

Taylor-Alexis obtained her Masters in Media Studies with a certificate in Documentary Studies at The New School in 2021. Her quarantine film It's Fine was featured in Barbican's 'Inner States' program and at the New School's Unprecedented Media Showcase. She was also the 2020 recipient of the Deanna Kamiel Fellowship Award that honors the legacy of the esteemed director and producer, Deanna Kamiel.

In 2021, Taylor-Alexis directed and edited a documentary, The Silent Willow, on uterine fibroid awareness after her own diagnosis. Her documentary was selected by DOC NYC, the Black & White Film Festival and the New York Independent Cinema Awards festival. Her film was also a finalist for the National Board of Review's 2021 Student Grant Awards.
