VMware has announced a strategic collaboration with Intel to bolster their two-decade-long history of innovation, with a focus on accelerating the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and enabling the widespread use of private AI. This partnership aims to facilitate the integration of AI solutions across data centers, public clouds, and edge environments. VMware and Intel are working together to provide a jointly validated AI stack that enables customers to harness their existing general-purpose infrastructure and open-source software to simplify the development and deployment of AI models.
The combination of VMware Cloud Foundation and Intel's AI software suite, powered by Intel Xeon processors featuring built-in AI accelerators, as well as Intel Max Series GPUs, will deliver a validated and benchmarked AI stack. This stack will support various AI-related processes, including data preparation, model training, fine-tuning, and inferencing, ultimately speeding up scientific discovery and enhancing business and consumer services.
VMware boasts a global presence with over 300,000 customers deploying VMware Cloud solutions, and its virtualization software is widely used in enterprises where data processing and management are critical. Intel, similarly, provides open, scalable, and trusted solutions to a substantial customer base. The extensive adoption of VMware and Intel products across various industries forms a powerful combination, poised to democratize data science and facilitate the global adoption of Private AI—an architectural approach that balances the benefits of AI with privacy and compliance needs.
