OKX Ventures, the investment arm of prominent Web3 technology company OKX, has strategically invested in Matr1x, a cutting-edge Web3 entertainment platform focused on high-quality, cyberpunk-themed e-sports games. Matr1x, having secured around USD$20 million from various venture capital firms, is developing Matr1x Fire, a first-person shooter styled like CS:GO, featuring a 'battle-royale' mode where teams collaborate to conquer foes. The game incorporates classic Web3 elements, including NFTs unlocking special experiences and privileges, and will be accessible on mobile and desktop. It revolves around a conflict between data cartels and a decentralized resistance, embodying values like data sovereignty and decentralization. OKX's strategic investment aims to support the development of Matr1x Fire's battle royale segment, set to launch by the end of the year after the official Q1 2024 launch of Matr1x Fire. OKX Founder Dora Yue sees Matr1x as a catalyst for Web3 adoption, anticipating that its integration of playability with unique Web3 features will set new standards in gaming experiences for 2024.
