Horchata ice cream is reminiscent of the horchata drink is a delicious, cinnamon-dusted rice milk drink that we use to wash down delicious tacos. Saffron Ice cream is a favorite at our Los Angeles stores. It is also the flavor that most reminds me of my childhood in Baku, Azerbaijan. Coconut Lemongrass sorbet ice cream flavor was inspired when my husband and I tried Tom Kha Gai soup in Los Angeles’ Thai Town for the first time. With its sweet coconut, and bright lemongrass, he suggested I recreate it - sorbet-style. It is now a signature flavor and customer favorite. Ube ice cream made from purple sweet potatoes, is a tribute to the bakeries of Historic Filipinotown in Los Angeles. No corners cut - we source our ube at peak ripeness, make ube jam the traditional Filipino way, and then churn it into our gelato. Nothing screams East Los Angeles to me more than the ubiquitous taquerias and their colorful aguas frescas, Spanish for "fresh waters.” As with traditional Jamaica (pronounced ha-MIKE-uh) agua frescas, our Jamaica Agua Fresca with Mint flavor is made by steeping water in crimson-colored, dried hibiscus flowers.
